Quick Before it Melts

Good things come in three

Toronto’s The Natural Shocks won’t make your hair stand on end, but they may get your toes tapping and your hips swinging with their no-nonsense indie-pop.  The band released its debut album, Complete With Comfortable Lighting last month, and its available to download now via Bandcamp.  The band appeared on Herohill‘s massive Gordon Lightfoot compilation project just the other day, too.

Dundas’s The Dirty Nil‘s sound is heavier than The Natural Shocks, there’s a cool, off-kilter melodic sensibility at play on their songs that sets them apart.  Their Fuckin’ Up Young 7″ single is also available via Bandcamp, with the option of buying on vinyl as well as digital.

I know very little about Nova Scotia’s Lake Names when it comes to biographical information, but I do know that, a) the band just recently formed and played it’s first show in February; and b) the reverb drenched lo-fi pop nuggets on their charming debut EP, Echo is well worth the time and effort to investigate and enjoy. It’s available–you guessed it!–on Bandcamp as well.
