Nigel Irwin is a man out of time. His fusion of classic rock, pop and R&B and contemporary musical sensibilities is charged with the angst and excitement of being a young Cree songwriter living in modern Toronto, whose tastes touches vintage music, both in terms of age and style.
The 23-year-old songwriter and his band The Hallers (Irwin and all the band members work as ushers at Massey Hall) have been playing together for the last few months and working on new material as the prepare for a possible tour this coming November. Before that can happen though, Irwin will be treading the boards at the Lower Ossington Theatre where he’ll play Buddy Holly in an upcoming production of Buddy.
From Under The Streetlights was released earlier this year, followed by singles “Hooked On Love”, “Take It As It Comes” and “Steppin’ (On the White Man’s Land)”. All are available now through Nigel Irwin’s Bandcamp store.Tags: Nigel Irwin
