You might not have known it by reading this past week’s postings here, but it’s been Canadian Music Week in Toronto, so this week’s round up will focus on some local bands at CMW.
St. Catharines’ Waterbodies released their debut full length, The Evil We Know earlier this year, and though I’ve been derelict in covering it, the record has gotten them recognition on Canadian college radio. The band are playing their second of two CMW shows tonight at Global Village Backpackers. The trio recently released a video for “How To Burn Bridges” (embedded above)
I’ve been hearing a lot of good stuff about Montreal’s Mozart’s Sister lately, so if you’re CMW’ing tonight, check them/her out at the Silent Shout showcase, which also features DJ Cadence Weapon spinning some wax.
Caribou drummer Brad Weber’s Pick A Piper perform Sunday night at Rancho Relaxo, showcasing music from their Mint Records debut, which drops April 2.
Halifax’s Cousins are also playing tonight at Parts & Labour, andr an early morning gig at The Rivoli at 1:30 Sunday morning.
